JOURNAL 201218 – I am overwhelmed with the response to my latest email newsletter. Hmmm... it seems odd to say “my” instead of “our.” I am such a “band” guy. Ya know what’s funny? When people bump into me for the first time, they often say, “Are you Todd Hobin Band?” I don’t mind. Yes, that’s me.

I am going to try to answer most of the email responses. It is a daunting pleasure if there is such a thing. I have heard from hundreds of folks. They tell me about their families, their lives, and their memories. I am also enjoying communicating with younger fans. They have questions. Oddly enough, I have answers for them. They love music and want to take part. Get involved. They want to create.

I have renewed faith in the future.

This morning I need to get to the studio. I have to finish up the edit for the Record Store Radio podcast. It’s with my friend Professor Louie. I love these podcasts. I learned so much about his past that I had no idea about. He also shared news about his upcoming documentary and live streaming events. He is an amazing dude with one of the best touring bands in the world.

And then I get right back into composing music for the full-length documentary film, The Artist and The Astronaut. Brett is assisting me on this one. He’s not only engineering, he’s also producing.

Let me tell you about producing. That’s when you turn to the composter and go, “You know, I think you can play that a little better.” And, “Be careful, that sounds a little lame.” And my favorite, “Perfect!”

His guidance has been truly inspirational.

I know how lucky I am.

P.S. - The missus would much prefer my real face as it looks today over the quick sketch on my last post. So, what she wants, my lady gets. I love her so much, I would do anything for her. Because, I know how lucky I am.
