The Central New York Brain Aneurysm Awareness Campaign assists brain aneurysm, AVM and hemorrhagic stroke survivors, family members and caregivers. To further their mission, this important supportive community organization will host its eighth annual Melt Away the Winter Blues Fundraiser on Friday, Feb. 7, from 6 to 10 p.m., at Pascale Catering at Drumlins, 800 Nottingham Rd., Syracuse.

The event includes dinner, desserts, wine and spirit tastings, raffles, a silent auction and entertainment. Individual tickets are $60 in advance; $65 at the door. Advance reservations for tables of 10 can be purchased for $650 and include recognition in the event program. Patron tickets are $100 and include recognition in the event program, as well as a bottle of wine, complements of Varick Winery, Country Store and Inn. This year’s event will honor popular Central New York musician and educator Todd Hobin for his advocacy related to stroke awareness — risk factors, signs/symptoms and the need for immediate medical attention — since May 2018, when he suffered a stroke and was treated by the team at Crouse Health’s Comprehensive Stroke Center. Emcees for the evening will be Farah Jadran, weekday anchor for CBS 5 This Morning and CBS 5 at Noon, and Newschannel 9 meteorologist Lindsay Raychel.

Proceeds will benefit patients and research at Crouse Health related to brain aneurysms, AVMs and hemorrhagic strokes. Major sponsors of the fundraiser are Wegmans; Tops Friendly Markets; and Kinney Drugs Foundation.

The Central New York Brain Aneurysm Awareness Campaign hosts a support group that meets on the third Monday of each month from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Crouse Medical Building, 5000 Brittonfield Parkway, East Syracuse.
