Galveston!
This will be a historic event on our film tour. The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston, Texas is spectacular. The theater has remained a treasure in the heart of the city and is a source of pride for all of Texas. Bill Muench and Todd Hobin will be presenting a screening of their award-winning film, The Artist & the Astronaut on Saturday, August 10th at 8:00 PM.
Joining them on stage for an after-screening talkback session will be Jeff Carr, Jerry Carr’s son, who also had a distinguished career with NASA. Moderating the discussion will be Col. Michael E. Fossum a veteran of three space flights with more than 194 days in space and more than 48 hours in seven spacewalks during his 19 years as an astronaut. During his last mission in 2011, Fossum served as the Commander of the International Space Station.
Bill and Todd will be in Texas for the week. Also on their itinerary will be a visit to the Mission Control Center at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston for an inside look at the place where many scenes of their historic documentary were filmed.
